Insight Homes reviews: what Delaware homeowners say
Insight Homes has nearly 200 published homeowner reviews. Here are some of my favorites, plus what to look for when you research any builder, from someone who sells their homes every day.
“We have lived in our Whatley model for 20 months and the average of our gas and electric bill is only $112. THIS IS a better home.”

“I have shopped every builder in Sussex County. No other builder offers the included features Insight Homes does and nobody can beat their prices for a vastly superior home. I cannot say enough about the people who work for Insight. Everyone from the top down has bent over backwards to accommodate us. We absolutely LOVE our Insight Home experience!”

“We have been in our Cartwright home for about 3 months. It has been a very hot summer as our central air is set to go on when needed. July was an extremely hot month and when we got our electric bill it was $87. I called up the electric company to confirm it was a full month's bill which it was. Wow! When Insight builds an energy-efficient house they mean it!”

“This is an 11-month review of my Vandelay. It is absolutely amazing I couldn't find anything to put in a claim. This builder is so good compared to others I have dealt with. The house is solid, no drafts, beautiful layout. The people at Insight have gone out of their way to make this my forever home. … I would not change a thing. I highly recommend this builder.”

“Insight has built our family a beautiful home in Bethany. We had a great experience with everyone from start to finish. The team listened to our needs, offered thoughtful recommendations, and ultimately helped guide us to the finish product. Thank you Insight!”

“We love our new home! We built a two story Whatley model with Insight Homes. We had a very good experience with our salesperson, customer care team, and project manager. It did take a few months longer than expected, but it was worth the wait. We are very happy with the quality and finishes of our new home.”

Is Insight Homes a good builder?
I'm biased, since I sell Insight homes, so here are the things you can check for yourself:
- Independent testing on every home. A certified HERS rater inspects and tests each home; scores aren't self-reported. What the score means.
- Recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy. Insight is a five-time DOE Housing Innovation Award winner and builds to the DOE Zero Energy Ready Home standard.
- Real energy bills, posted publicly. Homeowners share their actual bills, like the ones above.
- What's included. Owned solar, a tankless water heater, a high-efficiency heat pump and more come standard. See the full list.
- In-house Customer Care. Warranty requests go to Insight's own team, not a call center.
Questions to ask any builder you're considering
- Can I talk with homeowners who've lived in their homes for a year or more?
- Is every home independently tested, and what were the results?
- What's included in the base price, and what will I pay extra for?
- Who handles warranty requests, and how fast?
Better yet, walk a decorated model and see what's behind the walls. Schedule a tour and I'll show you.
