Fair housing

Equal Housing Opportunity

Everyone deserves the same chance to find and buy a home. I'm committed to fair housing in every conversation, tour and transaction, and this page explains what that means for you and where to turn if you ever feel you've been treated unfairly.

My commitment

I am pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. I support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin, or any other class protected by Delaware law.

What that means when you work with me

  • The same information for everyone: every buyer gets the same pricing, incentives, availability and answers.
  • You choose where to live. I'll describe communities, amenities and drive times factually and let you decide. School assignments on this site come from Delaware's official School Locator, with links so you can research them yourself.
  • Accessibility: if you need an accommodation to tour a model or a homesite, or information in another format, just ask. I'm glad to help.
  • Realtors are welcome for every buyer, on the same terms.

Who is protected

Federal Fair Housing Act

Federal law makes it illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental or financing of housing because of:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Religion
  • Sex
  • National origin
  • Familial status (households with children under 18, or someone pregnant)
  • Disability

Delaware Fair Housing Act

Delaware protects 13 classes:

  • Race and color
  • Religion
  • Creed
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity
  • National origin
  • Familial status
  • Marital status
  • Age (18 and older)
  • Disability
  • Source of income
  • Military status
  • Housing status

Housing for older persons (55+ and 62+ communities) is allowed under fair housing law. Insight Homes' Delaware communities are not age-restricted.
